Agreement#

By using sotf-mods.com ("SOTF Mods", "we") you agree to these terms, to the content policy and to the privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

The service#

SOTF Mods is a free community site to share and download mods, libraries, builds and Kits for Sons of the Forest. It is a fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Endnight Games Ltd. We may change, pause or discontinue features at any time; we'll try to announce significant changes in advance.

Accounts#

• You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to create an account.
• Give a working email address and keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
• One person, one account. Accounts may not be sold or transferred.
• Handles are permanent for now; your display name can change.

Your content#

You keep the rights to what you publish (mods, images, descriptions, comments, reviews, Kits). You confirm that you have the right to publish it — that it is your work, or that you have the author's permission and respect its licence — and that it follows the content policy.

Mods for Sons of the Forest build on a game owned by Endnight Games. Don't upload the game's files or other people's work without permission.

The licence you give us#

To run the site, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, scan, display, distribute and make available your content on SOTF Mods and through its API and integrations (for example mod managers such as RedManager), and to create previews and thumbnails. This licence ends when you delete the content, except for copies kept in backups for a limited time, content others have incorporated (such as a Kit that lists your mod, which then shows it as unavailable) and what the law requires us to keep.

The licence you choose for your mod (shown on its page) governs what other players and creators may do with it.

Rules of conduct#

Don't:

• upload malware, obfuscated code meant to hide what a mod does, or anything that harms players' computers or accounts;
• harass, threaten or impersonate others, or post hateful content;
• spam, manipulate downloads, ratings, reviews or reports, or create accounts to evade a sanction;
• scrape the site aggressively or bypass rate limits (use the public API instead);
• try to break into the site, other accounts or our infrastructure.

Downloads are at your own risk#

Mods change how the game works. Even with our checks and scans, we can't guarantee that a mod is safe, works on your game version or won't damage your save. Back up your saves, read the mod page and its compatibility reports, and only install what you trust. Mods are provided by their authors "as is".

Moderation#

Rangers review new mods and act on reports under the content policy. We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these terms, with a reason where possible. You can appeal a decision by replying to the notification or contacting us.

Liability#

To the extent the law allows, SOTF Mods is provided "as is", without warranties, and we are not liable for indirect damages, lost data or lost saves, or for content published by users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Ending your use#

You can delete your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms.

Changes to these terms#

We will date every change on this page. For significant changes we will give notice in News and, if you have an account, by email, before they take effect. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the new terms.

Applicable law#

These terms are governed by the law of the country where the operator of SOTF Mods is established, without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence.
