What SOTF Mods is#

SOTF Mods is the community home of Sons of the Forest modding. Since 2023 it has hosted mods, libraries and BuildShare blueprints for RedLoader, the game's mod loader, and it is the largest catalogue of RedLoader mods there is.

Everything is free to download, straight from our storage: no account, no waiting timer and no download manager. RedManager, the community's mod manager, reads the same catalogue, so you can install any mod from here in one click.

Who runs it#

The site is run by a small volunteer team of players and modders, and moderated by rangers: long-standing community members who check new uploads and handle reports. The code of the site is open on GitHub.

Creators own their mods. We host them, show them and help people find them; the credit and the decisions about each mod belong to its author.

How we keep downloads trustworthy#

• Every new mod is reviewed at the Ranger Station before it goes public.
• Every file is scanned, and each version shows its size and SHA-256 checksum so you can verify what you downloaded.
• Anyone can report a mod, a comment or a review; rangers act on reports quickly and log every action.
• Adult content is hidden unless you opt in.

Field-tested compatibility#

A game patch can break mods overnight. That's why each mod shows whether players have confirmed it works on the current game build, and Patch Radar tracks the most popular mods after every update. The data comes from you: after you try a mod, say whether it worked.

How the site is paid for#

Hosting and storage cost money. Guests see a few ads, never next to a download button and never on install steps; signed-in members see none. We don't sell personal data, and our own statistics work without cookies. See the privacy policy.
