Installation

  1. Download the KelvinGPT mod
  2. Drop the mod .zip in your game folder and extract
  3. Launch the game and start enjoying the enhanced interaction with Kelvin.

How to Use

  1. In the game, approach Kelvin and press the "E" key to open the notepad.
  2. Press the "T" key to activate text input mode.
  3. Start typing anything you want, questions, commands or interactions with Kelvin and press Enter.

Commands

The mods add 2 console commands

  • askkelvin recieves a command and will send it to kelvin without you needing to open the notepad for example
    askkelvin Hello kelvin, can you get me some wood?
  • clearkelvinchathistory Clears the chat history with kelvin
    clearkelvinchathistory

    (These commands work on the last kelvin you talked to, so in order to use them you must first send a message to kelvin via notepad)

    Disclaimer: Last update do not require you to use open ai / deepseek api key so all messages are sent to the sotf-mods server for processing which calls the external AI service and stores the message and response for future training purposes

    I would like to inform that it works, and did not crash yet. Kelvin spoke about himself, built a campfire, and so much more.

    Hi! I'm getting frequent crashes (every 10 mins) with the Kelvin Seek mod enabled in Sons of the Forest. Without it, the game runs perfectly (RTX 4070, i9-13900KF).
    I tested with no other mods, latest drivers, and lower settings still crashes. Could you please check? I'd love to use the mod if it's fixed. Thanks!

How to install this mod

Five minutes, no manager required. These steps are for KelvinSeek.

This mod needs RedLoader, not BepInEx. BepInEx mods and guides don’t apply to Sons of the Forest.

  1. Install RedLoader

    RedLoader is the mod loader of Sons of the Forest. Install it once and every mod works.

  2. Download KelvinSeek v1.0.1

    Download v1.0.1

  3. Extract the ZIP into the Mods folder

    On your PC, extract it into the game’s Mods folder:

    Steam/steamapps/common/Sons Of The Forest/Mods

    Keep the folder structure of the ZIP. Don’t put the ZIP itself in the folder.

  4. Launch the game

    RedLoader loads the mod on start. Press F1 in the main menu to see the list of mods.

Prefer one click? RedManager installs and updates mods and their dependencies for you.
